  Stock ignition wire routing 440 (specifically the wire that has the straighter boot)
  
  Alternator bracketry setup

Can't help you with a 68 and although mine's a 69, the engine is a 71.  Are they the same?  Beats me but nothing surprises me anymore with mopar.

Scroll down a little past halfway to see the alternator brackets minus the alternator.

I am not sure but I believe the 440 is different? can anyone confirm that? Thanks for the picture!
