Journalistic integrity and reporting the news in a straightforward passion doesn't get ratings.   Networks are not stupid.   They know that people want something to stare blankly at while cramming fistful after fistful of Cheetos in their grungy yap - that is -at least until Honey Boo Boo comes on.  The beauty is that they know those drones at least think they're savvy about world events, so they feed them 'news'   As savvy as one can be while blowhards hand-deliver their opinions to them and call for torches and pitchforks every 20 minutes because someone is By God out to destroy their way of life and they're not gonna get away with it!!!!!!!   *We'll return after these messages telling you to buy more Coke/Pickup Trucks/Reverse Mortgages/Other assorted crap you don't need*

Fox news is GENIUS for that reason.   CNN's been doing it for decades and Fox figured out how to turn the fears of right-wingers against them.
