Dash Trim around glove box

How do I get the dash trim that runs around the glove box , off?? Do I need to drop the Glove box itself??

Remove the phillips screws on the hinges and the glove box door comes off.  Don't try to put that trim on without doing that step or you'll be looking for new trim.

Oh and remove the radio bezel first or you can go find one of those as well.

how is it held on I dont' see any screws??

Screws are put in from the backside.

Open the glove box, look up where it hinges and push the liner aside.  You'll see the screws.  Remove them and the door is out of the way, the liner can stay put.  Remove the radio bezel screws and place the bezel somewhere safe.  Now you can pull the J trim forward without it snapping.  Be careful, this stuff is pretty brittle when you drop it after 40+ years.  Let me know if you need pictures.  I don't have the liner in place though.
