Which looks better?

In my ongoing effort to "tweak" my car a bit, I need an opinion.

The story in a nutshell....my aircleaner was messing up my nice molded hoodpad, which inturn was messing up my pie tin.....
I bought a Ford Motorsport chrome aircleaner that has a dropped base(the reason for this use is the fact that the diameter of the base is 13¼"....the same diameter as the base of a stock unsilenced aircleaner)
Anyhoo.....adding this fixed one problem and made another (what else is new)
Now the aircleaner hits the coil
The old Edelbrock CH4B manifold that I run already moves the coil in front of the carb to let you use a Holley.  I had to move the coil forward now to let the aircleaner fit.

I made a bracket & I modified another bracket that was given to me by a friend (thanks Ronnie  )
The one I made just moved the coil forward.
The one I modified moved the coil forward on an angle.

Pic 1 is my bracket & pic 2 is the modded one.

Which one do you like?  Don't say "none" because thats not an option  :nana:

Ill post the one I like and the reasons for it later.

Thanks

i think you need to add onto your garage and start another Charger.. :icon_smile_big:

Chris, I would go with the 1st one... Along with it "looking" more symetrical, it also looks like there will be less interference with the coil and the distributor advance...

Gotta go with number one Chris. I love the organized look and perpendicular to the centerline is fine. Poet and don't know it.

I say No. 1. It looks like it belongs there and the symmetry works better for the above reasons. :yesnod:

Hmm...Not what I would have thought people would say.
I would have thought #2 because it looks like the same "angled coil" look as the originals were (although on the other side of the manifold)
#2 isnt really in the way of the vac advance.  They both are in the same general location.  Its just the angle of the pics.

I thought #1 might have looked a bit hokey because its kinds far out into the void (floating in space if you will)
Heres a top view.

I think they both look good but evertone has an opinion and we know what opinions are like. What it comes down to is what do you like better. ;)

Lose the dust collecting hood pad and buy the correct centre head!   :D

All will be right in the world.

Nah, just mount it on the fenderwell...problem fixed. ;D

J/K. I like #1 better too.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I think #2 best suits your car Chris. It is more in keeping with the "original" theme.

Start another project..the car is finished.

The idea of getting some $500-$1500 beater sounds better to play with., Think about it, there has to be some street rat or doing a bracket car on the cheap you have wanted to try.

BTW I know cars are never done, but yours is close enough to start something else.

I would go with the 1st one, you need a new project to play with.  :icon_smile_cool:

Chris, I'm sticking with the minority on this one. I prefer #2 for your car.

With all these people suggesting you get a new project, it's obvious they have no idea of how much space you actually have to work with. Show that garage pics for those who say grab another car to restore.  :yesnod:

Now selling it and buying something else is a different story. He's been hinting at wanting a '70...but you didn't hear that from me.

Go with option 2. I can't ride the wave.

I've seen the one car garage he has and yes its a tight one car at that. A beater can sit outside in the weather. It only would matter if he got another car that needed locked up to keep prying fingers away.

Would you rather see a picture of his driveway? It ain't much better. He even makes me feel better about the small space I have. Heck, I can't even take a tire off in my garage...but I'm still a lifetime member of "The T".  :D
