I had to pull the car out of the garage today and turn it around, so that I can start working on installing the nosecone.

While it was outside, I took a picture...

...Z-bars, headlight doors, latch tray, headlight buckets...

So...

On June 6th 2014 I strolled on in to my local Chrysler dealer and placed my order for a brand spankin' new 472 Hemi crate engine for my Daytona clone.   :coolgleamA:

After leaving a sizable deposit with my friend the parts guy, I left for home confident that my new engine would soon arrive...  :coolgleamA:



I got a call a few days later, informing me that the engine would be delayed a few weeks, and would that be OK ?

My reply was "Sure, no problem" !   :2thumbs:

"I've already waited 35 years to get one, so at this point a few weeks won't matter"...  ;)

Over the next several months,

The Chrysler dealer parts guy and I repeated the above conversations several times.  :scratchchin:

Sure that it was just a minor issue Chrysler (FCA) was having, I soldiered on...


Then...

Yesterday, (September 25th 2015) I get a call from my friend at the dealership.

Recognizing the number that appeared on my cell phone...

I anxiously answered the call.

Yeah ?

Bad news, Man...

Your crate Hemi order has been canceled by Chrysler. (FCA)

They said they're having "Supplier problems"

I've been told DO NOT attempt to order it again.

The order will be rejected.

They are not sure if or when they will EVER build any more crate Hemis.

Do you want me to mail your refund check, or do you want to swing by and pick it up ?

Stanton is a good one.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............
