71 Charger R/T 440-6 4-speed possible??

SO I am at the local Friday night cruise in last night with my charger. I start talking to a local guy I have know for years. Nice guy, but mostly has Chevys. He tells me a story I have heard from him before:

He has a buddy in a nearby town who has a 71 Charger R/T 440 six pack, 4-speed car sitting next to his house (outside) that he won't sell and won't restore.

My q is was there a 440-6 available in 71 in a Charger? I  know that no hemi or 6 pack for anything in 72.

Also he was thinking that it was an SE as well as an R/T, but I think that stopped in 70.

Could this car be real?

Yes absolutely!

No R/T SE in 71. Just R/T or SE. I think a few 72 6 pack cars were built.
