Fred

Can someone please translate this in to plain English for me?
I can't make heads or tails of it.

It's the cam in my engine.

That's a pretty mild cam for a stroker hemi....should idle nice and smooth.  :2thumbs:

Intake/exhaust duration @.050 vave lift is 240* and it has .450 valve lift with a 1.5:1 rocker arm ratio. Some specs are missing ; advertised duration and LSA (lobe seperation angle)

I say it's probably fine for what he uses the car for.  He hasn't mentioned anything about racing it.

Yes Ron it has a very smooth idle and it cruises great. It hardly sees revs over 4500. Having said that, when I punch the throttle, I wish I had a bit more torque. Is there a more suitable cam? I've dug up a few more numbers, do they make any sense to you?................

Cast iron block with mopar aluminium heads.
472ci Hemi B 4.255
                 S 4.15
10.7:1 comp.

It comes in at around 2300 rpm.

Hope this makes sense.

What a coincidence. I am using  a 472 ci Hemi for my motorcycle project.

It is a KB wet block with Mopar aluminium heads 10.5/1 cr. I am interested in how it will handle and sound.
As I recall I ordered a stock hemi grind cam but am still looking for the real spec.
I will be following this thread as I try to find out what I have.

Fred.

Wow, that grind has a lot of seat timing (advertised duration) and modest lift.....definately a slow/lazy cam profile. Definately room for improvement !  :yesnod:

How much gear and stall do you have in your car Fred ?  :scratchchin:

Fred,

This is a good match for your combination with that stall and 3.23 gearing ;

http://www.crower.com/index.php/camshafts/mopar-426-hemi-66-71-compu-pro-hydraulic-cam-300-hdp.html

I've had good luck with the Crower hyd cams.....they make lots of manifold vacuum and have a nice hotrod lope at idle. Fantastic throttle response and very strong midrange power with descent pull on the top end.  :punkrocka: :drive:

Thankyou very much Ron for sorting that out for me.  That cam will surely wake up my sleeping beauty.
A cam swap is on my agenda.  :2thumbs:
