Everyone bring you Charger so he can run it into the wall.  Won't that be great.

Too bad he has to do this now for money.

Times must be tough for him, gotta do what you gotta do to put food on the table.  Too bad, I liked him in the old days.

For what it's worth, his net worth is $4,000,000 according to this site. I'd like to have "tough times" like that.

I'd like to meet John Schneider, but I wouldn't drive more than an hour to do it, and that wouldn't get me anywhere near New Jersey. Plus it is being held at a car dealership. I don't want a salesman trying to sell me a Fiat anyway, which is their only real goal when they hold events like this.

Not necessarily.
This dealership (formerly known as Warnock Dodge) has been the host of many Mopar shows over the past decades. I've attended many of them.
Last year they had a small show & John was on hand signing autographs. My friend had his GL on display as well.
In all the years I've attended neither I nor any of my friends have EVER had a salesman approach them with a sales pitch. I also attended another Dukesfest at a northern NJ car dealership, no sales sharks were out hunting that day, either.
Now, I'm sure if you approached THEM they'd be all ears, but from my experiences it wasn't the case.
Something to think about before throwing out a blanket statement.

Well, if it was within an hour's drive I'd go then, but unfortunately it isn't.

Forgive my ignorance, is John from the area? Or does he live in the area? Or is the car show that big that he flies in for it? or?

myk

Schneider's working a profitable niche for himself; something that many people try to do all of their lives and never succeed at doing.  I don't see what the problem towards him, is...

If I recall, he's from NY originally but no clue where he lives now.

Cali. Just sold his house after the 'big D'. A buddy bought his place.

You don't get to redefine the word "excuse". I haven't given any "excuses" at all, given that I was never under any sort of obligation or commitment to go in the first place. "Excuses" are for when e.g. you don't show up to work, i.e. it is a proposed reason for why you should be excused from blame, i.e., why it wasn't your fault. Mentioning why you won't be attending some random event ~450 miles away that you just heard about, has nothing to do with an "excuse".

If e.g. John Schneider decided to not show up and he gave a reason why, then that would be an excuse.

It isn't even a hour away from me, but have better things to do.

Cooter, for once I am agreeing with Rosco.  :yesnod:
A horrible show, with an equally horrible portrayal of an otherwise nice state. Then again, My Redneck Wedding isn't that great either, is it?

BTW, you need to change your profile pic quote to, "So what? So let's DANCE!!"

I'd rather meet the stunt crew who really built and drove those cars, not the guy who only pretended to.

John did a lot of the driving. Only the stuntmen came in when the VERY large jumps appeared.

Schneider did do some of the driving, including very minor stunts, such as an occasional "bootleg turn". If you watch the first episode of the series (One Armed Bandits), you see him do one in the parking lot of the police station. If you are watching it on the DVD with the commentary on, he mentions that that was the first time he'd ever done a bootleg turn, and how excited he was about it.

But Schneider doing any significant driving was mostly limited to the first five episodes (the ones filmed in Georgia on a relatively low budget). When they moved to California, all of the closeup driving scenes were filmed inside a studio, so the actors probably weren't even in the general vicinity when the stunt driving was done out on the studio backlot. In the California episodes, about the most you ever saw of Schneider or Wopat actually driving the car was a quick scene of them coming to a stop, parking it, and climbing out of the windows, or the reverse; a scene of them jumping in it and driving off, which quickly cuts to a wide shot of the car being driven by a stuntman, interspersed with closeup shots of Schneider and Wopat "driving" in the studio buck Charger with passing scenery being projected onto a screen behind them.

Yeah I'm kinda stupid that way; when someone works hard and earns a bit of success I tend to be happy for them; what am I thinking... ::)

I did not have time to go, but I did speak with Bill Rolik on Saturday at Mopars at E-town. He said there was a very good turnout.  :yesnod:
