putting a 440 in a 69 charger 383. 440 is in. frame mounts are one inch below motor mounts. Its not lining up or wanting to settle in.
I have put motors in before and they would just drop in. I replaced the orig 383 with another 383 and never had this kind of trouble.
I think I have an issue with the the mounts.
Any ideas?

All big blocks from '66-'72 used the same mounts/brackets, if it doesn't fit suspect the accuracy of the mounts...are they new?

Mounts are new. I have the mounts from the 383 that I pulled and they are in good shape. Should I try those?

Sure, try the old ones from the 383 to confirm that the new mounts are the problem.

It should drop rite in there with no mount issues. I put a 72 model 440 in my charger where a 69 383 came out. Bolted in with no problems except had to work the headers over with a hammer to keep them from hitting on the steering box and torsion bar.

I dropped a 440 in my 68 Charger with no problems @ all everything mounted up perfectly- are you sure that car came with a BB originally  :shruggy:

Mounts all but have to be the problem as all bb Chryslers have exactly the same block mounting ears from mounts down. Only diff. I'd the deck height.

I got it in. There was two holes on the driver side mount. I moved the bolt to the other hole and it dropped right in.
