SpeedTV Channel is off the air - R.I.P!!~

Speed Channel is officially done. Fox has picked it up and is now FS1 (Fox Sports 1) #219 on Direct TV.  What a shame!

we lost speed a while ago ,we now have fs1,fs2,fs3 one for Aussie rules football ,one for rugby league football and one for that most exciting of sports horseracing        good luck

that channel has been unwatchable for years. the only things worthwhile were F-1 and Aussie V8 cars..and they either lost the rights or dumped them. Otherwise endless reruns of Pinks, Dumbest stuff on wheels, and and that show with the mulleted dude rebuilding the suspension on a Ford F150 for the 15th billion time.

Velocity had Discovery surpassed it long ago for car oriented content.

Speed did need some work.  I would have liked to see some more car building type shows, but also see some vintage racing.  It would have been nice if they showed some of the races from the glory days of Nascar, NHRA, and other series.  Outside of the Raceday coverage, there wasn't much worth watching.

All those drunk, fat, middle aged guys who get winded straining to take a piss will now have yet another sports channel available to them so that they can vegetate on the couch all weekend long watching a bunch of testosterone soaked sweaty men playing with their balls.

I thought Speed was bought and killed (turned into NASCAR TV) years ago???  Regardless, it was dead to me years ago. It's content blows.

Fox Sports one will continue on with BJ.  BJ was excited because he thinks now he can get a bigger audience.


I contacted Fox Sports 1 and thanked them for taking off Speed.  I now have no reason to really turn on the tv anymore.  Honestly, the tv is off now, radio on.  Velocity is unavailable in my area.   I also mentioned that I would have liked to have seen some more of the races in the glory days of racing and more car building shows if they had continued on with Speed.  Don't have to worry about it now.

Exactly Speed was dead years ago, I watched Velocity before I finally canned the DirecTV WAY too much money a month for worthless programs and re-run after re-run, I bought a antenna and have 15 channels with all the local channels and some music channels and then I have Netflix and Amazon video service on the PS3 so I have plenty to watch. without paying ridiculous amount of money each month for channels I don't even watch.

Speed was slowly dying and no one seemed to care...it was as if they knew they weren't going to be around much longer and so just started to show reruns of their old programs.  Some of their "newer" programs were downright awful..."Dumbest Stiff on Wheels" and "Are you faster than a Red Neck".  And they reran "Pinks" so many times that you knew who the winner was going to be....no surprise there.  Since Fox 1 doesn't show as much auto racing,  I have no excuse for not spending more time in the garage working on my rides.

*Less time in front of the TV = more quality time with my Chargers.

    Try MAVTV channel 215 on Direct TV. From what I've seen in just the last couple of days it's better than speed ever was. So far it doesn't have a bunch of nascar crap on it either.
