Sup, so to keep it short my charger and vette projects were both reported to my city to be scrapped by an anonymous party, if i dont i'll get fined for 100 grand ( this is my 2nd report), i've tried hiding the cars, but as soon as i bring them out on my driveway for more than five minutes i get another report from who the hell knows who.

so anyone else had any experiences like this, wherever you live? what did you do?

I've heard of it but never experienced it yet.  You're the first one I've heard of getting hassled in Ontario for it.

Clunker laws :flame:  They need to be dismissed.  Yes, I've had the same thing happen to me and my dad.  The city went on a binge about not having junk cars in town unless they're in a garage.  After moving them in and out of the garage a few times, we ended up moving them out at my uncle's place.

It's bad where I'm at.  You can't have race cars, boats, motorcycles, jet skis, or even kids' toys out in the yard without getting wrote up.  That's why I'm leaving the city limits, and so have at least 2,000 other people.  Property values outside the city have risen big time because of the city laws.

Plenty of houses in town for sale. :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Every time I take one of my chargers out to work on them for more than a day(in my driveway), I get a violation notice in the mail from the town building inspector. Violation states cars will be removed and sold for scrap with bill for towing charged to residence and/or lien put on property if vehicles are not removed. Building inspector comes by on a regular basis and checks for current registration on all vehicles parked on property(sad to know how our tax dollars are being spent).

It's an Obamanation.
What is next?  How to dress out side our house?
Who are these people that spend their lives trying to get us all to be the same.
I know that there are some that don't like F8 green. But how would those that do react if it became illegal?

Charger-Bodie

You wont get much for the vet for scrap as it is mostly plastic
If you do get stuck and need to move stuff there is room around my place if you can not find someplace closer to home
They would just blend in here
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

moving huh, possible, but depressing i actually love most of my neighbours and they all have supported me with my cars, they all help me push, and work on them and 5 of them offered their garages for storage, and i have taken up there offers out of desperation, but im hoping for a permanent solution.

my next temporary solution is swapping the vette for a neighbours durango, she doesnt seem to mind but i still hate bothering people  :rotz:

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

From my perspective, I don't think it's right for people to pile their crap outside for all to see, especially if it interferes or endangers those around them in neighborhoods. I've reported several people to cities, neighborhood associations, etc., for this. That said, I wouldn't have a problem with what Baldwinvette did but if five minutes turns into two weeks I definitely would because inevitably the driver cars have to be put someplace else to make way for the projects and that often means they get put where someone else wants to park.

A former neighbor of mine had a rental house that was being used to traffic drugs and (before I arrived) was used for prostitution. The renter living there when I was next door took stolen property in trade for drugs and the crap began piling up all over his lot. I warned the owner several times about what was going on and he basically gave me the finger. So I called the city and some guys showed up with a big truck and loaded it all. A little while later the owner got a cleanup bill for $3k. It was pretty comical listening to him come uncorked when he called me after that. But it still didn't stop so I started calling the city to stop the drugs and a few weeks later the DEA, ATF and city police showed up and hauled the renter away. Stupid owner was too dumb to understand that with certain drugs they'll board your house up for years and you won't be making a dime from rental fees... but you'll still be paying taxes and probably fines from the city.

Now there's a place about six houses away that's got so many cars piled in front of it they have to park their "extra" cars in front of my house. So because these idiots can't contain their mess they have to disrupt the people around them. That's BS, and I call the association every time it happens and the mess-makers get a phone call.

It's one thing to pile crap around your house if you have acreage and aren't disruptive to others but when you're in a crowded neighborhood people need to be practicing some common courtesy.

all true, and cool story, but to add to my story, im not the only one with an at-home garage, a couple houses down from mine theres a guy with a junk fox body and 3 houses down from there a guy with an overly-loud subaru wrx, on the exact opposite side of the street theres a guy with 3 engineless mazda miatas. none of them were reported yet, so whats the deal with me? and im not the only one working on my cars, making noise or whatever anonymous has against me  :shruggy:

My wife doesn't understand why I want to build outside the city, and why I will never own property that's part of a Homeowner's Association.  This thread sums up why nicely.

So, clear something up for me here...

Is this YOUR house that YOU own,

Or do you live with your parents? :scratchchin:

And...

All of this car activity...

Does it take place in front of the house where the whole world can see...

Or, is it like my house, where all of the car stuff happens in the backyard or in my

garage behind the house?

Baldwinvette77

happens in the garage... with the garage door open, not like it matters, everyones inside watching tv, sleeping or whatever non-car enthusiasts do with their spare time  :shruggy:

JB400

So, the cars pretty much stay in the garage.  But, when you open the garage, the city complains?

Baldwinvette77

not the city, somebody. theres plenty of "violators" on my street, but im the one thats being targeted, the city doesnt care if you have an unplated car on your driveway trust me, i had a cop come to my house directly and said if had a choice he'd just forget it since he loves my cars, but since someone reported it "action must take place" idunno  :rotz: bottom line someone on my street needs a nice civil talk too  :hack:

Well...

Apparently it matters to someone if they keep calling the law. :Twocents:

You're probably too visible where you are.

Of course, the spray painted "You Mad ?" on the side of the car, obviously directed

at the neighbors, ain't helping your cause one bit either. :Twocents:

Your parents are probably getting sick of the mess too, and are wondering when

you are going to move out and give them their garage back...
