Are vent windows unique to body styles or do they interchange?

Does a C body vent window assembly fit a B body or are they two different animals?

I have done many resto's on these, I know C-Bodys are not the same, I don't think the RR window's will work either..
From what I have found, 68-70 chargers are the only one's that are the same. The pivot points seem to change for
no particular reason..........

I'm not sure either what the minute changes were all about and I can't say I'm surprised.

Thanks for the clarification.

I've taken apart & reassembled many doors as well.
'68 - '70 B-body & Charger share the same vent windows. The door glass is also the same (hardtops only), and quarter glass.
There are some changes with '68 door glass, no hole for the plastic stopper which '69-up has.

Just took apart a set of '68 B-body post-coupe doors today. The vent windows are very nice, good candidates for rechroming & will have a new home someday in my '68 Charger. They are the same.

A-body, C-body, B-body convertible & sedan are different vent windows entirely.

Bill,

what is the difference between the B body vert and my charger?  I didn't notice a difference on dads GTX vert. although the charger was not next to it to do a direct comparison between the 2.

Doesn't the convertible share the same windshield frame as the sedan? IIRC windshield gaskets are different from convertible/sedan to hardtop as well.
IIRC the convertible/sedan windshield frame is not as sloped as the hardtop, therefore the vent window frame will have a different pitch, right?
According to the '69 parts book sedan & hardtop have different vent window part #'s.

Could be.  Again, I have not really did a comparison with a side to side with the cars but you are probably right.  Never really thought to check out the windshield angle.  Just know that they both have vent windows and frames in the doors.  Something to check out the next time I have the two cars together.   :scratchchin:

Also on the B-bodies themselves, the rubber tip on the top edge which functions as some kind of stop or something for the main side glass has a different shape for some years.  It will fit and function but won't look the same.

Actually the stops are different for left and right sides. Maybe that's the difference you're thinking of?
B-body should be the same, A-body, and so forth.

I found this out lots of years ago, they sell repo's, but they don't say right or left, you just enter a quantity  :shruggy:

I have used the new repo's and the units I bought work and fit well, they were sold as a pair from that vendor, most don't indicate that.
