My department purchased 3 2012 Dodge Chargers (5.7 Police Package), and we have had a ton of problems with these. I was wondering if it was just our bad luck, or if any one else has had these problems: So far the number one issue has been front suspension bushings. We just put the 3rd set in on all three. I have seen some after market performance bushings that look real good (Pedders), and was looking for feed back on that. 3 radiators (the cars are sitting right now at 48,000 to 60,000 miles) replaced due to leaks. Alternator fire, fuel pump and now a fuse box with too much play where the fuse plugs in (A/C of course..). Oh and 2 out of 3 (so far) have lost a cam shaft (worn not snapped). Anyone else with these problems? Thanks.

Hey man.

This website is devoted to vintage 1960s/70s Dodge Chargers.  We don't mind talking about the modern Chargers but this is not the primary place where that crowd gathers.  Try LXforums.com, I think that's the hotter spot for the modern 2006+ cars.

Any help is good help! Thanks, I will give that site a try!

No experience but the State Trooper next to me drives one every day. Perhaps I'll ask? Honestly, the newest models are the first ones that I would even consider buying - but not if their reliability is as bad as it sounds. I don't know of a police-specific vehicle web site - but I wouldn't doubt that one exists. Might be kind of interesting to follow!

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I drive a 2010 with no problems. My brother in laws squad has had his radiator replaced and another squad had problems with the compressor. All the same year

i have a friend who works at the plant where they are made, and tells me a good amount of the cars have problems ranging from engine, transmission and electrical, i dont know the percentage of the cars, but he has a horror story for me every time i see him  :shruggy: and this is for all models, 300c, charger and challenger

Thanks for all the input. We are now getting into some electrical issues. The fuse box under the hood seems to be the problem. Ate a lot of A/C compressor 10 amp fuses. So far it looks like the contacts at the box are not making a tight enough contact. I have yet to get enough time to check out the other site, but I most certainly will. If you have any friends or neighbors as cops or troopers with these issues, please feel free to let them know I am looking! Sgt. Rick Lang Marshalltown Iowa PD.
