Is there a difference between 68 and 69 trunk light harnesses?

This morning I finally found my trunk light harness and it had a bad spot so today I made a new one, but before that I found one on Ebay that had different connectors than mine. Mine has the Molex style connectors (white, pics 1 and 2) and the Ebay harness (pic 3) has the gray retangular and T-style connectors. Not sure what the proper name for them is but I'm curious if there's a year-to-year difference on these.

Also, the power wire on my 68 is black and on the Ebay harness it's pink. I expected mine to be pink as well since so many of the console/dome light power wires are pink but I'm sure mine's factory because the trunk light socket pigtail is also black. :shruggy:

I don't have a clear answer for you Bull, but those grey connectors are all over my car (69).

I agree.  All I have seen on my car are the gray T type connectors or other regular gray connectors.

Same here until you get into the wiring behind the driver's side kick panel. The reproduction harness has the molex connectors there too.

The single pin connector is what connects to the trunk light pigtail. The two-pin connectors break in to the console harness behind the driver's kick panel.

I'll have to check behind the kick panel.  The big connector that ties brakes and turn signals into taillights is grey on mine as well but I can't recall the other connectors right now.  It's been a while since I had the panel off.  I have my car outside the office so I'll try and check it for you before I leave.

I had the wiring from my dash out for my 70 Charger
The only plug in my harness like the second one in your pictures (white plugs) is the one that goes up to the dome light (located in the driver kick pannel)
looks like the kit you have just has a male and female plugs to make a short section to steal the power from here going to the dome light to supply your trunk light
The same 2 wires (pink, yellow) I believe that go off to the left in my picture have the grey plug(like your ebay picture) that would go to feed the lights in the console
So same idea the trunk harness would just join in between to get the power

my 66's & 67's all had the gray "T" style, or "T56" connectors as they are called. My 70 has them also, but also have the little pin style throughout the car as well

so I'm no help

I just can talk about one thing... YES, usually the last section up to the trunk light, changes from pink on rear harnes to black.

Just finished up rear including trunk light, black on mine , re worked my original loom bull, mine taps in to plug for console but piggy backs into one of the yellow console wires,

Still didn't look due to the minor mishap in the garage, but I think mine is the same as Sublime's.

I'm going to pull my kick panel and take a pic of the molex stuff there and another one of my old original trunk harness. IIRC all the molex stuff I have is behind that kick panel.

Here's one. I'll post more later.
