Think of getting the QTP electric cutouts, just wondering how much clearance is preferably needed between the pipes and the ground to not have a problem with speed bumps etc, how much lower than the pipes will the cutout motor etc sit once fitted ? Currently I only have about 4 – 5 inches between the pipes and the ground so i'm thinking it's going to be too low

i run the dougs cutouts. my pipes are real low to the ground too. the dougs cutouts dont make the ground clearance any less. their top notch!

I've thought about running cutouts on my project with pipes exiting full out to the side but with some kind of resonator or similar to tone it some.  I wondered why all the cutouts I've seen just open a hole in the exhaust side rather than redirect the entire exhaust. In other words, why not have a cutout that is inline with the regular exhaust but closes it of to direct the full exhaust out the cutout? Here's a few clips of different styles for clearances.  Which brand lasts longer before it starts leaking around the seal?

Dougs are awesome!  :2thumbs:

Agreed x2. My Dougs are now 4 years old and doing great.

Dougs uses a scissor design for the "gate", I think everyone else uses a butterfly design. Seems to me it makes all the difference in the quality, no leaks, etc.

Search the DC site for threads on this, there has been a lot posted in the past.
