Some months back my HL's began coming on and off at regular intervals.......something was tripping the internal circuit breaker in the switch.

Took everyone's advice here..........checked grounds, wiring, new HL switch, new dimmer switch etc.

Still same same.

Damndest thing ...... The only thing I changed when reassembling the car was the head light connectors. I didn't replace them but I did fold the wires back over the connectors and wrapped cloth electrical tape around them. I don't know why I did that other than to "dress" them.

The other day I pulled each headlight out and cut that tape off, straightened the wires as stock and reinstalled.

When I pulled that bad boy outta the hanger today I flipped the HL on and I'll be damned if they aren't functioning normally again!!!!
The only thing I can figure is it was Ma Mopar telling me not to f**k with her.

Standby by for hammering.......

had a similar thing on mine ,  put it all back after the resto with all new M&H harnesses worked perfect , then decided to do my own take on the madd amp meter by pass etc ,  well after fitting the dash harness back again   , connected the three plugs in the fire wall block connector , tried the lights !! heard a clicking up by the headlamp switch  :o took the multi plugs off the fire wall connector again & found a few of the female ones on the dash harness , had been pushed back , so weren't making contact , ( M & H  could not have bent the tang on the female spade end up enough , to en gauge the stop inside the fire wall connector , any way took the harness back out , re bent the tangs on the loose female connectors , fitted it all back together , worked perfect !!    no idea why it was making the switch click though  :shruggy: nothing was shorting  :scratchchin:

green arrow points to metal tang that's not always bent back far enough , to stop it coming out
