Hood Depression Decal Questions...

G'day.
Can anybody tell me more about the thin black decal strips which go within the hood depressions?
Are these factory "correct" for a 1968 R/T? Was it an option or were these standard?
Should the face of the hood turn signal be painted black as mine are in the pic below?
It's something I had never previously thought about before owning a Charger.
Regardless of whether this is "correct", I plan on buying some to put on my car, but I just wondered why some cars have them and others don't.

I guess it's one of those things where if you're the kind of guy who is a stickler for the rules, you'd do black decals on a black car, but if you're not, then it's kind of a waste of time, money and effort.
But on saying that, the decals are matte black, so I guess they will be noticeable on shiny black paintwork.
For me, it's about personal preference. I think the black strips would look good on my blue and I guess it's good as that's how it's "supposed to be".
Here's a pic of a nice triple black '68 which often shows up at my local car shows. It is a beautiful car which helped inspire me to get mine.
No decals or blacked out signal face, but hey, who cares? Looks great and most people over here wouldn't know any different.

Hmm, not seeing it.  

Yours will look great with the black stripes on the hood. Love the black on blue.

Ever seen a black AAR or T/A? They look smokin' with the black side stripes....which were only available in black and mandatory on those cars.

I suspect that they were put there to cut down on reflections thus making it a bit easier to see the turn signals?    On a black car they are noticeable as they are typically flat or eggshell where as the paint is nice and shiny.

lol. I thought that first pic was of a blue car which is why I asked to see the black (thought you got your colours mixed up lol). I see now it's just the sunlight.
