Anyone know anything about these cars?

Looking at a few cars for my brother in law tomorrow as he got into a head on collision two weeks ago and they totaled his car.  He is fine however, he is in need of a car pretty quick as the insurance company is no longer paying for the rental car.  Is anyone familiar with any problem areas or recalls for these cars?  I still have to look at them tomorrow for him and would like to have a little knowledge on these cars before I look at them.

Can't go wrong with any of them.  I have a 2010 Accord.  It's no show car but it has all the trimmings and is super reliable.  The recalls are usually pretty minor for these but do check them first.  Just google recall for the models you want and you'll find all of them.

thanks for the reply Dino.  Thats the problem.  The accord is out of my brother in laws price range.  He just graduated college and is working for a veterinarian until he takes his medical test to get his license so he has a huge college loan to pay off.  (think he was in college for either 6 or 8 years due to all the required stuff!)  He just basically needs a reliable set of wheels to get to and from work and by us, there is nothing that is that low of a mileage of any decent vehicle or anything in his price range.  These are basically the 3 cars that they narrowed it down to for me to check out for them.  Unfortunately, being that I know a lot about cars and repairing them, I somehow became the family mechanic to look at everyones current and future cars they are checking out.  Just sucks that I have to travel an hour and a half to look at the cars today and also have to drag my 2 1/2 and 6 1/2 yr old along with me for the ride.

I think Troy owns an Optima so he may be able to tell you more about them.  I know a few people with a Sonata and they love them.  If I recall, there's one model to avoid but that was a 2000 or something.

I would have no problem buying a 10+ year old Japanese car either as long as the body was in good shape and some kid didn't 'tune' it.  You can't really break those cars.

Any of those would be fine....I bought my daughter a 95 Accord with 215K on it....had all the records since new....going on 3 years now....looking now for my younger daughter...looking at 97 to 2002's Kia,Hunday, Honda, Toyato, Nissian with as close to 125K as I can get for around 4K...there are plenty out there but they go quick...if they aren't beat they seem to be able to go 300K with a little care....
