Just replaced the left engine in my Yamaha Exciter. Broken rod. The shop I bought the engine from recommended premixing the fuel and removing the injector lube system.

Anyone done this? Good idea?

Don't take this wrong, but you can't beat a real American boat. :Twocents:

I went pre mix with my jetski .....was always worried that it wouldn't feed oil otherwise and would go bang  :Twocents:

I did that to a Vespa I had years ago.  The mixer failed and roasted the engine so I premixed from that point on.  I would leave it as is if you're covered under warranty but if not you may want to do the premix thing.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

not a Yamaha jet boat but the 1986 Yamaha 200 on my 85 17 1/2' Ranger been using premix most of it's life.  The injector lube system was abandoned not long after new because of failure stories.  No problems at all

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it's a safer way to oil the engine then injector lube.
