Hello All,
Where is a reliable source for wiper blade refills in both 15" and 16"...

I have googled 16" and have gotten some ANCO and Trico hits, but there are a wide selection of possibilities... Anyone recently purchased any refills and have the part number?

Cheers,

Believe it or not, Advance Auto sells the whole wiper. It is called the Trico Classic series and are under $10 each. The part # for the 15" is 33-150

That's the problem, we are trying to stay away from the whole wiper. But, I quess one could simply take the rubber blade part out of the wiper assembly...

That is what I did. There are some aftermarket refills out there that do not have the correct humps in the metal strip that holds the rubber. I used them, but they didn't quite fit right and the wiper blade lost its shape pressing against the glass. It was better to just buy the whole blade and swap the rubber. I felt kind of foolish doing it as the new frame looks exactly like the old one. But these have been with my car from day 1..may as well save them.

Why are you trying to stay away from the whole wiper? They are all but identical. It's as if Trico saved their original stamps and just dusted them off to make new blades.

plus you can use the discount code from online...cheap parts.  a lot of times I tell them at the counter that I get 20% off on the net...then they just price override in the store.  saves me some hassle. mike

You may be able to extend the life of your old blades.  Just spray a paper towel with window cleaner and wipe the blade.  You'll see a bunch of black stuff which is the old oxidized rubber.  It will also clean the rubber.  This doesn't work forever but I've got blades on my cars for more than 2 years and they still work great!! Whenever you clean the windshield also clean the blade.
