AMD Hood Hinges...No Bueno

[Daytona R/T SE]

I bought new AMD hood hinges for my Daytona.

They didn't fit worth a shit

Of course, we discovered this after we painted the car, hood, and hinges.

The damned things scratched the holy fu&# out of the underside of my

hood.

The springs were actually scraping the hood bracing.

Of course, since they've been painted, I can't send them back to Taiwan.

So...


After repainting the underside of my hood...


And...

Running my 44 year old original hinges through the blast cabinet for a while...


And...


Priming and painting my 44 year old original hinges...


Everything lines up and fits perfectly

So...


Thank you AMD...

That's another $250 thrown away on this project.





Plus, the extra money for the shop to repaint my hood, and paint my original hinges.
