Pretty neat with the stuff they come up with.

I love it!  I went to a conference last year where a team of scientist had created an interface like that so that people have full control over a prosthetic limb by using their thoughts.  Next step is direct implants!

My thinking as well. This technology will continue to advance. I would see people with mechanical limbs being able to control them with brain waves some day. Walking and moving normally.

I recently read about this after meeting a soldier at the Vets in Tampa who had lost both legs in Iraq. He was telling me about it and had some info with him he was bringing to his doctor there.. It was quite similar to this with the skull cap being a baseball cap. In the article they said that with training anyone using this system would not only be able to walk again, but also run. He would need at least 1 full leg as he still had the left to his knee, but says he'd lose the whole leg to be able to run again.

After talking with this guy I wanted to cry. He was so up beat and full of energy.  He asked what I was doing there and I told him I was there for my back. Explained what was what with me and he said, "Hey brother, I feel worse for you. At least I don't have pain." I was really touched. I hope the vets will set him up with this new system. He was still in his 20's with a full life ahead of him.
