This guy was a nut job then and a bigger one now! I guess now the cars NOT in moms garage and he's;losing his storage. This is after he tells me somebody offered him 45K! Sorry for the crappy pics. I ran out of battery! What would you offer  ??? Opinion's please..........

It would probably sell for 10k to someone but Id be happy around 8k. No fender tag kills it.  Too bad as it appears to be most likely a real 383 4spd car.

Lol I'm sorry to laugh at this chap claiming 45k it was probably his buddy joking with him saying its worth 45k so he assumed his buddy offered lol.  Yeah it's a 10k car all day, it has no special history and will require alot of work to get her road worthy.

And yeah he sounds like a nut job.

buddy.... what buddy?? other than his right hand..............  ::)  I'm thinking way under 10............

Sadly, they are all right, it is not the automotive 401k he thinks.

JB400

Considering this is a 70 instead of a 68/9, $10k to $12k.  At least the frontend seems complete

Lol, I'm going to have to laugh too.  If he's going to sell that basket case for $45K I guess I'll ask $130K for mine.

So a car like that can go for 10K?  Wow, I'm really out of touch.  Back when I was Charger shopping back in the day people would pay you 10K to haul it to the junkyard...

Upside down and sideways pics are a pet peeve of mine. Maybe it gives you a vision of his upside down world.

It's probably worth 10k... if the frame rails and floors aren't rotted all to hell.

Totally agree with that. Many of that in CL ads, drives me nuts. I'll copy the pic to a folder then rotate it myself just to view the pic.  :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

TRULY AMAZING...   :o

I mean, the value is what it is, and whatever someone's willing to pay for it, but c'mon.  I personally don't care if the the Virgin Mother Mary had the immaculate conception in that car; it ain't worth 10K...

fy469rtse

70 , not an rt , big block car, needs full resto  6k to 9 k , needs o lot of work, if you really want the car , put the green folding stuff under his nose, not what he wants but what your willing to pay for it, you know car has been sitting for a long time, what made him park it, does the motor turn over, look for obvious signs that something major went wrong , pay what you want , remember he's the one in a spot

Dino

If that car sells over $10K...it's 2005 all over again!

obviously he couldn't make his big dollar deal with someone. Those are storage locker pics... vs... my "moms" garage pics.. have no idea who "Brad" is??? That's not his name. But he's never posted on bbods before or since.

You really gotta talk w this guy to know what kinda nut job he is. I wouldn't pay anywhere near 10K, But I do appreciate all the opinions here, that's for sure. I don't "need" this thing. Should be an interesting afternoon.

nut jobs are crazy and/pyscho so be careful...i read that thread about the convo u had with him he seems unstable.

Scaregrabber

Six pack setup is worth $1500 probably, so $10k would be the high end.

bull

Red flag #1 - owner is an arrogant fool (price).
Red flag #2 - no fender tag.
Red flag #3 - too vague about the condition.

I wouldn't touch it but a visit might be entertaining.

adauto

BULL - This guy has an EMOTIONAL attachment to this car, like Ed Gien (pardon spelling) had to his mother....   :nono:

Scaregrabber - saw one at Carlisle for $1200 ... anyway 10K is way to much IMHO. I know he was offered close to that 2 years ago and dint take it. Its 2 years rustier/crustier....  :yesnod:

74dodgecharger - that's why I posted it... almost word for word. gives a pretty clear picture of this guy I think. maybe he's monitoring the MOPAR forums spying on me...   :poke: Like I'd give a ratzazz  :slap:

My two cents would be all I'd be willing to give up for that pos.  IF there's any decent parts left then that is all the car is worth.  I wouldn't touch that thing.

I got a good name for that car... RUSTY!   Neat car, bad shape, I would not go over the $10k most have set the value at ~ Would be a cool car to save, but damn thats a lot of work and moeny to get it fixed.  Its a 500, not an R/T.  Its a 70, not a 69.  It needs more work than most people would want to do on a car, and unless its priced fair, it will contiune to sit and rot...  Someone Save It!  :Twocents:

I WOULD RATHER CRUSH IT THAN SELL IT..................TAKE THAT!!!!!!!!!

Lord Warlock

I can understand why some long term owners like this one may have an inflated opinion of the values of these cars,  Over the last 20 years while this one was rusting away the values have peaked and valley'd about 6 or 7 times.  At some point the car very well could have been worth 40k, but not anymore.  This one looks way beyond the average car enthusiast's capabilities.  I couldn't imagine folks looking at that and seeing a great deal.  But there is always someone out there with more money than sense.  It just reinforces my own feelings about the worth of my car, should someone show up offering stupid money for a rare car.  Something's to be said for keeping a car mostly rust free and stored inside, even in florida with high humidity.  The only part of mine that got worse over time was the trunk floor which I had put fiberglass over the center trunk area where a few small holes were, when I pulled it off 10 years later, not much was left under the fiberglass, enough to stand on without falling thru but a lot worse than before.

In any case, if this pulls 10k i'd be shocked.

I thought 500s had flush rear windows, or was that only in 69?
69 RT/SE Y3 cream yellow w/tan vinyl top and black r/t stripe. non matching 440/375, 3:23, Column shift auto w/buddy seat, tan interior, am/fm w/fr to back fade, Now wears 17" magnum 500 rims and Nitto tires. Fresh repaint, new interior, new wheels and tires.

paironines

Yes it is rustier than I thought and while I wouldn't give 10k for it I think 5 or 6k would be a crazy deal for how complete it is but I don't see it going that cheap anymore. Itll probably sell for 8k.

Ed Gein? So he's just plain nuts then. I understand how an emotional attachment to a car can make a guy act weird but at some point reality has to set in when it comes to an actual exchange of money. I went through this with a woman on a local '69 that I helped a guy from Nevada buy. It was in similar shape to this '70 you're looking at and at first she wanted $12k because it had a "wedge" 318 instead of just a run-of-the-mill 318 and she was emotionally attached otherwise. :shruggy: After 3-4 visits I managed to talk her down out of the clouds and I think we settled on $6k which was a bit on the high side of fair.

adauto

This guy is not going to sell this car...  the emotional attachment is way too strong. at this point I'm thinking this is a parts car. I'll put a bet on I know whats gonna happen next..... time will tell if I'm right.

Only 69, in 1970 the 500 was a trim package more or less.

Ghoste

And the 69 Charger 500 is in many ways the odd dog in the overall Dodge lineup as "500" had been and was after it, an upscale trim designator on a few car lines.  Only the one time was it an homologation special with extensive modifications to the body.

Emotional attachments have led to the demise of many a car.

Iceyone

I'd have a hard time paying $4500.00 for that car, let alone $45K. If that rust bucket can get $10K then I ought to sell my 68. It's not near as rusty and still has the fender tag.
