I have one from a collision repair job I did when I ran the body shop. It was from around 2003 Jeep Liberty (Mounting tab was broken so the insurance paid for a new one) with a V-8 I think. It is 18 inches wide and has 6 blades.

If I where to use it, would it work better as a push or pull? After I strip off the extra wiring down to just the + and - motor wire I think if I flip the polarity to control which way it spins.

Car is my 68 Road Runner 383 with a 4 core radiator.

i would think pull. i put one on my hemi ram as a puller and it works great.

I am going by instinct which tells me the fan blades will move more air in one direction than the other. They are like scoops. Try it out in a cardboard box to see if this is true.
If the mounts bring this question could you put in front of the radiator?

Brightyellow69rtse

my thought was that why have it blocking the front of the radiator? i would think this would cause it to have to run more often.

ws23rt

I agree. It would tend to block some air flow if mounted in front and was not running. (more so than in the back).

are you going to remove the stock fan? IF so, you are gonna need a temp controller to make it turn on & off at desired temps. I put a pusher fan in front of the radiator in the nose of the Daytona, but still retained the clutch fan and 6 blade fan. I have only had to use it once or twice when sitting in traffic in 90* days. I just put t toggle switch in to turn it on when I saw the temp starting to climb

I have a similar setup in my '70. Electric fan mounted in front of the rad and wired back to a toggle switch under the dash. I've used it once when it was stinking hot and I was caught in traffic. I wouldn't worry too much about blocking the rad in front.

I run one in front of my rad w a thermostat and relay. Works great when in stop n go on hi heat days!

Not sure if I have the room for in front of radiator, but that is where I would like to have it.

Has three wires 2 blue and 1 black, any ideas?

By the way, I will use a toggle switch.

Wow, what a great read; this presumably takes the guess work out of "what fan to get."  I like how the member feets has "tried just about every type of fan" but the 'Merc one was the only one that qualified...

sounds like the same fan on the wife's PT Cruiser....black wire is ground..one blue wire is high speed, the other blue is low speed
