Can the mirror be replaced in a remote control mirror or it better to just pitch it?  thanks

The glass itself?  Never done it on a Charger mirror but have done it to several others.  I doubt they sell the matching glass though so you may have to have it cut.  It may be more economical finding a complete mirror or you can try yourself if you have a glass cutter and a steady hand.

One mirror has good glass, the other good chrome.  Thought I could make 1 good one.

Is there a good glass shop nearby that could look at it?

I've wondered about putting a glass in here (or maybe just gluing it onto the existing glass) that is very slightly convex, to increase the field of vision a little.  Those mirrors are so small compared to a modern one that anything would help.

I'm thinking of doing the same to a passenger side mirror, which I do not own yet.  The driver's side is fine by me but that said, a wider field of vision would not be a luxury.

To the op, take the mirrors to a glass shop and ask what they think about transferring the glass.  On a modern car I can pop it off in no time but I have no idea how these old things are assembled.
