My friend is having wiper motor troubles with his 69 charger and called to compare with my 68 charger. He must have a different style wiper motor on his car than I have on mine. He said his is a two speed and so is mine but he says his harness doesnt plug onto the motor like mine does. Mine also has a ballast resisor bolted to the top of it and the brown wire goes to the resistor and a brown wire then goes to the motor. Does anybody else have a ballast resistor on their wiper motor?? Mine has always worked since I bought the car (knock on wood) so I haven't had to look into wiper motors until know. I looked on o'reillys home page and the one they show for a 68 and 69 looks like the one on my car but the way my friend described his motor it wasn't the same. Just wondered if you guys have any input on different wiper motors and I guess the wiring harness would be slightly different too.

From what I remember, the 2 speed wiper motors had the ballast on it.  Don't know why yours doesnt.

Here's a pic of my 2 speed motor. The 3 speed motor looks totally different but as far as I know both were the same on 68 and 69.

The "ballast" resistor on top is actually the two-speed resistor to regulate the current for high and low.

:yesnod:  what the other guys say  :coolgleamA:

just to add to this , bit of usless info I've found  :P, there are 2 different  two speed wipers too ,  as far as I can make out ,   its only the ground strap that's different , I have the one with strap at top , like the picture bull posted  :yesnod: :coolgleamA:

but my original had a short ground strap on the lower mounting stud hole   , if that makes sense  :scratchchin:   cant post any pictures for reference , still trying to work out new computer & digital camera wont work with it :brickwall:

68 3 speed motors had a different case than the 69 and 70 also.

Here is mine that I restored     http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,91590.0.html

I'm glad to know that having a resistor on my wiper motor is correct!! :yesnod: It turns out that my buddy's 69 has the 3-speed wiper motor on it. Where or who does the restoration on these three speed wiper motors?? How much does it cost and whats the turn around on getting one repaired? I'm sure he will want to get it fixed pretty soon. Thanks for the pics guys, at least I know what to look for now.

He quoted me $260 plus shipping.

I think that is reasonable but I ended up doing it myself.
