So for anyone looking to get a quarter million for their Daytona...

maxwellwedge

What's the deal with that car?

Real black?
Paperwork?
Auto/stick?
Original drivetrain and key Daytona parts?

held1823

if it's the car i think it is, it was originally  R4 / black / 440 / auto

Sold price seems in line.
Didn't a white with red interior non matching Hemi Daytona sell for near 100K at auction last year?
And that car was a 4 speed.

maxwellwedge

A real Hemi Daytona stick for 100k? Not thinking so....I would have jumped on that! A roller would be 2x+ that.

So...  good price or bad?

Far cry from what Arruzza wanted for it on EBAY with a $200K reserve before the ad was pulled

Aero426

A real XX29 Daytona with a Hemi built by a name guy, for Superbird money would seem to be a very good deal.    I'll bet there are some clone Daytonas with Hemis that were not all that much cheaper to build.

I think the car is nice, but more of a show and shine grade car.  Remember it was on TV back in the 90's.      I don't think changing to a more attractive color and stripe hurts a great deal given the engine replacement, and if the car was originally one of the common colors (like R4).

Personally, I have always liked the way this particular car looked.     :drool5:

Don't be so quick.  I heard he was cleaning out the couch cushions a second time just to be sure.

Sorry need to clarify , when I said non matching hemi car I meant it originally came with a 440.
It was talked about here, can't seem to find it. Think it was a Canadian car.

The daytona was on american muscle car series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcPmHV1akp8&playnext=1&list=PLD596FF9CAB17FEC2&feature=results_video
Thanks for posting that video link. It answered a question that has puzzled me for years. I always heard that the fender scoops were for tire clearance but pictures I have seen of the cars racing (and parked), it did not appear to me the tire was high enough up in the fenderwell to rub. Now I know the real story. :2thumbs:

I would but it for that , although cheaper would be better  :D

I don't think the world agrees on the "real" story yet!
