Frame T Cap

Got the 68 Road Runner up in the air the other day and found some rust damage to the frame.  I think this section is called a T Cap?

Auto Rust Technicians have the part I need (I think) and call it a T Cap.

I am thinking this a slip over piece and I do not have to cut out the old section? Boy it has been 15 years ago but I think I had to use the same part on my 69 Charger.

If will work, I don't care if it looks bad, I just want the Road Runner street worth again.
