I have a few question about the emergency brake system on my '69.
When i got my '69 the front cable was snapped and there was no adjusting nut or equalizer. I changed the front cable. I bought a new retainer clip that pushes onto the cable and is supposed to snap into a hole in the frame. I can't get the cable and clip to snap into the hole. Are there any tips or tricks you guys could share to help me snap the cable into the frame?
Since I did not have the equalizer piece i am not sure which way it goes on. The FSM has a sketch but I can't make out which way it goes. Since the equalizer can be described as looking like an "E", looking from the drivers side which way would the ears of the "E" face? Forward or backward?
Also if you pull the slack out of the two rear cables should they be close to even when you put the equalizer on? If so what would cause them to not be even?
