Still salt on the roads but I took the Charger out anyway (pics)

Well It did go out but not on the road. Just got my new trailer. Put the Charger on it to see how it fits. I need a brake controller! The trailer has brakes on both axles, I do not have a controller yet. The front brakes on the truck were stinky after a 10 minute drive around the block. The second pic is with my Nascar wheels and tires on the trailer. Hows it look?

Those tires and wheels look pretty cool on the trailer. And yes, a brake controller is a must when towing a tank/Charger.

cool trailer but your truck seems to be sagging a little in the back, could make your front end light while towing. Rene

:iagree: It's probably just a matter of centering the car on the trailer to achieve the right amount of tongueweight. Nice trailer Paul...i need one just like it..... soon. Nice score....and the tow vehicle looks pretty sharp too !  :icon_smile_cool:

Thanks guys.
The truck has a 2" leveling kit on the front. Any weight in the back makes the front look like it is nose light. I still have to come up with a good way of positioning the car on the trailer to get the right amount of tongue weight.

Nice trailer. And car. And truck. I bought a trailer new last year to haul my 383 duster to the drag strip. To bad I broke the car every time I went. Here is my trailer.

I like that whole setup you got goint there...I just got me a trailer for my 69 Charger also and it is pulled with my 05 Ram. Rams and Chargers go together like bread and butter!  ;D I have to get some pics of my setup and I will post later also. I have wanted one for so long and the deal finally came my way. It has an electric winch, self contained tool box in front, lighted so you can see under the car at night if you have to load. It is pretty slick.. Anyhow congrats on your buy man!

Toolbox, winch, lights. I like those ideas. I have work to do! I would like to see some pics of your set up. I saw a trailer that had a tollbox mounted in the floor up close to the front. It looked real handy there. You hardly noticed it.

LOL, You guys are pretty sharp. Yes those are the wheels and tires that were on the Charger when I got it. They have been sitting around the last couple of years so I put them on the trailer. I have a set of 14" Magnum 500's on the Charger right now. Up close they look tiny in those big fender wells. This summer if the $$ comes through I plan on getting a set of Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500's in 15 x 8 on the front and 15 x 10 with 5 1/2" backspace on the rear with some 295/50's tucked inside the fender well.

it seemed to me like on my dovetail trailer most cars balanced best with the back tire right at the top of the dovetail.

An even better (and SAFER) thing to do is to use a set of weight distribution bars when trailering. I have a set of Drawtite's. You'll need to get a special hitch ball/coupler. The bars snap in to place, and then attach with chains to brackets you bolt or weld on the trailer. I will never tow a car & trailer without them again. They help transfer the weight up to the front the truck, improving your tongue weight. Much more stable, you won't get that "boat ride" feeling when trailering. The kit was maybe $300 or so. I got the biggest one, as I have an enclosed trailer.
