The numbers came with the car in the trunk, owner's choice to put them on or not.  Had a couple running around here "back in the day."

There was maybe one around here back when they were new but that's a lot of brain cells ago.  A devoted following for the F-bodies but I wonder if the aftermarket will ever step up to them.  I just can't see it but I once thought the A-bodies wouldn't get the support they do now.

The numbers were not like that, they were solid. And the tuff wheel should be black rubber or foam, whatever it is, with stainless brushed spokes. That is a aftermarket steering wheel.

on the Super Coupes the tuff wheel matched the color of the interior. Shelby's a tan interior and the tuff wheel is tan. That's what I meant about the numbers .  :2thumbs:

When I was in my early 20s I ran a 1977 Dodge Aspen 2 door couple painted limelight green in the local demo derby (Platte County Fair Grounds)... I had a giant mopar penstar painted on the hood and wrote GO MOPAR on the sides...  I took out 2 or 3 cars before getting struck onto an S-10 chevy i pinned into a ditch... an 80s chrysler mini-van ended up winning 1st place... At least a Mopar still won!   :cheers:

The front suspension on those Aspens are bumpsteer heaven, Why anyone would want one boggles the mind!!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Cuz, except for the first one pictured above, they are inexpensive to pick up, parts are still easy to find in yards, and with the same mods as an earlier car, they are just as fast.

My old '78 Aspen would run low 12s in Denver with a 360.  Put many a classic Charger on the trailer.

However, disco era cars aren't for everyone. They will never be as valuable as earlier cars, but that also means you see even fewer of them at shows than you do Chargers and Cudas.

Because guys my age (27) can't afford late 60's - early 70's muscle cars. Yes, I may own a '68 Charger but I can't afford to restore it because everything for these cars is astronomically priced. They weren't cheap when I was 18 and single but at least back then I had the time to do everything myself and not pay someone else. A wife, two kids, and a full time job with responsibilities later, cars seem a whole lot more expensive. At least the wife understands the sickness and puts up with it most of the time...

That has the same interior mine did. That is one of 628 Aspen's built with the Spectrum interior. The interior is actually in very good shape yet, even slightly better then mine was.

saw a black /multie coloured stripe one in a mag back in the day, these were new when I first noticed cars . didn't know what it was just loved the flares/louvers etc. .wasn't till years latter that I found out how few were made .i just keep an eye on them eventually some one will go hey, there not that bad and the price will go through the roof   :yesnod: 70 super bee is a prime example right through the 80's and most of the 90's they were the "ugly sister" now if you want a good one is20-30 K just for a look in  :eek2:   and yes I'd love one (black with the spectrum int.) and a 70 super bee while your at it    :lol:
