My horns work great in both my Chargers.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

One of the few things I need to fix. Not a major priority at the moment though.

Should have your horn working. It is needed as you drive and people lose track of where they are driving as they look at your car.. :Twocents: I have almost been hit every time I take it out... :brickwall:

Fred

If the horns not working here, the car isn't road worthy and if the car isn't road worthy, it's illegal to drive.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

That's the way it is here too.  But, the only time it is checked is when the vehicle is being inspected.  I've never had a cop ask me to honk the horn to see if it works.

Have you been asked to blow your own trumpet?  :icon_smile_big:

Seriously though, come to think of it, I didn't have to honk mine either the one time I was pulled over for a random inspection.

You are exactly right Fred. Better get it looked at before Rego is due.

Not sure how it works in your state TPR but here if you don't let the rego expire, you don't need a road worthy to renew on or before the expiry date. It's only when you have a car registered for the first time that it gets inspected.
Even  so, I'm a stickler for having everything working (whether it's checked or not) for my own piece of mind.

Its required here too but like Stroker, I can't say that I've heard of a cop asking you if it works in a random stop.

if TPR is in N.S.W. we get a full inspection EVERY time the rego is renewed ,it sucks and it costs  :eek2:   just the way that it is but left drive rego is no different to right drive rego so   :shruggy:

Not sure my mechanic has ever tested the horn on my daily driver, but then again, I never just sit there and watch him do the inspection at Rego time so who knows?
Regardless, I need to get a few things looked at on the Charger, so this will be on the list.

One horn works the other doesn't but kinda a mute point since the rubber in the rimblow is hard as a rock. I keep an air horn can on the floor for just such an emergency.  :icon_smile_big:

Sounds about like it is here.  $12 for the inspection, $26/yr for the tags.  Everything is suppose to work, but that depends more on the inspector. :whistling: :misbehaving:

I'm not sure how much the road worthy inspection is these days but it's well over $12.00 here, that's for sure and the rego is almost $600.00.   :'(  A sad state of affairs.

F**k a duck!  I thought it was bad here.

Rego $230 approx.
TAC   $320    "
Insurance duty  $32
Total  $580

TAC seems to vary depending on which car (I've been slugged a much as $370) putting the total over $600.

I don't feel so bad about my inspection now, except for the fact it's a hassle.

Being that your registration is so high, what is the money supposed to be used for by the gov?  Road work? :popcrn:

Whew, you get tucked for it. We have a 6 monthly inspection for warrant of fitness ( roadworthy ) and annual registration of $280.34 but that drops to half price if the vehicle is 40 years or older.
But our gas is $2.25 a litre for 95  :o

TPR check the most common things with your horns , bad relay, horns just gluged up from age , does it have an after market steering wheel, a lot of guys don't hook up horn switches or correctly or use the contact ring for the earth wheel behind the after market boss

Man, You people have it rough over there. In Texas, I can register it as an antique (at least 25 years old) which will give it some driving restrictions but, I have never heard of someone being ticketed for it and it costs $62.50 for 5 years and you have no inspection requirements! I just registered mine for the first time in 32 years. It had not been registered in so long, the State had to re-enter all the information into their system and I had to wait until it was there (about 2 days) before I could re-register it and get my plate!

Ready to roll now!
