I just broke one taking it off to replace a sending unit. I'm feeling pinched for time since I will be taking this car to carlisle on thursday. Are these bolts available in auto stores help sections?

A383Wing

no...but I have heard of people making one from a carriage bolt from hardware store, heat it, bent it, make it fit

And of course, there will be some for sale in Carlisle.  Sometimes irony is just a big kick in the crotch.

You could cut it off above the thread and weld on a bolt or ready rod (threaded rod) and then install new one from carlisle when you get home.

If you have a Fastenal store near you they have a variety of J-bolts.
