Can someone show me how the latch connects to the lock with this arm?  Am I missing any pieces?  This came disassembled when I bought the car.  For a 72 SE.  Thanks.

Latch bolts to the frame on the inside of the trunk. The long flat rod attaches to the lock cylinder. That assembly is then slid through the lock cylinder hole in the rear tail panel and the flat rod simply slides into the slot in the latch you already assembled. The U shaped retainer holds the lock cylinder in place and slides over the lock from inside the trunk

Thanks DC but that's the part I can't figure out.  How does the flat rod attach to the cylinder?  There is no pin or anything for it to attach to.  And where exactly does that rod slide into the latch?

If anyone has pics that would be great.

You are missing the retaining spring

DC_1

after you get that attached and slide the lock assembly trough the reaqr panel hole that rod will slide into the latch assembly where I circled in yellow

Ooohhhh, ok.  So the retaining spring is what the rod actually goes thru on the cylinder.  Thanks!
