Getting drivers side exhaust back on....help!!

Had to remove the drivers exhaust manifold off my 69 charger. The nuts go on so easy but the one sleeved nut is fighting me all the way. Wish engine was out of car but I'm not doing that. Loosened up all the nuts and tried moving manifold but still can't  get the threads to grab. Took it off to check the threads and it goes on and off easily. Any tips??

You are on the right track: Keeping them all loose until they are all in place. Maybe you could alternate the order of which bolts you install?

Try starting that one first for a few turns than start the rest of them. They all should be well started before running them in.
