I have an auto trans out of a 66 Coronet with a polyhead 318. Is this a small block 727? If so what engins and years will it work with. thanks

John_Kunkel

The poly shares the bellhousing bolt pattern with the LA small block engines (273, 318, 340, 360), in some years one bolt hole is different.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

ok well I have been looking but I cant find anywhere where it will tell me what years that the bolt patterns my be different. I even found one place where is said that some early Polyheads had a different bolt pattern. My trans came out of a 66 coronet so that was the last year for the Polyhead right? How sought after is the transmission that I have? From what I read small block 727's are desired but not sure if I have the right bolt pattern to fit the 340's and 360's

A 727 from a '66 poly will fit a 340 or 360.

'66 is the last year of the 19-spline input shaft which makes them less desirable (worth less) than the '67 and later.
