It's time to play, What's That Part!

Been going through bags of parts lately and organizing the last few pieces that need to go on the car and I ran across this thing. It was in a bag the body shop had labeled "engine compartment" and it sure looks like that's where it would go. It's not the clip that goes above the master cylinder (that one's slightly different) and I'm fairly sure it's not one of the positive battery cable clips; the only thing I can think of at the moment is that it might have been helping to hold the harness/vacuum hoses that run along the left inner fender.

Any guesses, theories or educated certainties? This is on a 68 BTW.

Now that I think about it I believe it is one of the original positive battery cable clips. I bent it over one more time and now it looks nearly identical to the upper clip I got in my reproduction kit. Am I right?

The hoses on the 68s were held down by a valve cover clip. The holder at the alternator is bigger, and I reused that one.

Yeah, that's got to be what it is. :2thumbs: Thanks.

Funny how much stuff got lost by previous owners, how much got tossed and how much I've found later and wondered where it came from.

Battery cable clamp was my first thought. I don't think there is any part of a 68 or 69 engine bay I have not held a few hundred times!

Is this a game, or a one time deal?  :popcrn:
