Where do you like to eat at Carlisle? What kind of food and how expensive is it?

All depends what meal you're talking about and what you want to eat.        :yesnod:

Whenever we go for a show in a new city, we always search for a good Sushi joint.  The first year we went to Carlisle, we found a place on the main drag through town.  It was so, so.  Then the next year, I had my trusty iPhone and we found one of the best Habachi/Sushi places in a strip mall just off the main drag.  The place was called AYA Steakhouse.  It is in a strip mall at the corner of Samuels Dr and S Spring Garden St.

The second place I would recommend is really close to the grounds.  It is an Italian place called Marcello's Restorante. Again, in a strip mall on Calvary Rd, just south of Spring Rd.  This is just north of the gates on Calvary Rd.  I thought the food was really good.  My friend who had traveled to Italy with his wife for their honeymoon raved about how authentic the food was and how good it was compared to the food they had on their trip.

We have only been out there two years so far and this is what we have found that really stood out.  There are a lot of places that are full of fellow Mopar gear heads and most were decent, but these two definitely warrant stops in the future.

Have fun at the show this year.

P.S.  The vendors outside the gate at the east end of the swap meet offer a pretty good alternative to the food on the grounds.  The price is a little bit better and the lines are not bad.

Aya is a nice place. They have a great Hibachi and Sushi area as well. It's BYOB.

If you want a hearty full meal, hit Miseno's II on High St. Not Misenos up the block next to Golds Gym, but Misenos II. They have big dishes at great prices. It's about 2 miles from the fairgrounds. The Buffalo Chicken Bambino is all the rave, but there's so much selection. You won't be disappointed.

Out on RT.11 (Carlisle Pike), there's pretty much anything you want...Olive Garden, Outback, Red Lobster, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Robin, Etc.

Are you talking at the show or afterwards?   :shruggy:

If you're coming out on Thursday, come down to CVM in Mechanicsburg for the Kick-off to Carlisle show. Its just burgers and dogs but the food is cheap and you get to look at pretty cars.  :icon_smile_wink:

As far as "real" food goes, here's a list from the local boy:

The Gingerbread Man (pub) - In downtown. Usually have really good food but they cut their menu back on car show weekends. Still good just less selection.

Cancun - Little Mexican joint on 11, good food and tons of it really cheap. My best friend loves this place but I'm not a fan of Mexican food. :icon_smile_cool:

Middlesex Diner - North of town on 11. Pretty darn good as far as diners go and its a diner so the food is cheap. Best diner for lunch and dinner.

Carlisle Diner - South of town on 11. Typical diner fare. Good breakfast and won't be packed like the Fairgrounds diner.  :shruggy:

Embers Steakhouse - North of town on 11, just across from Middlesex Diner, inside Hotel Carlisle. Pretty good food but expensive.

Redd's Smokehouse - BBQ joint on N. Hanover st. I've never been there but everyone I've talked to who has loves the place.  :nana:
