Hey guys, I just took my car for a 30 mile trip Thursday and noticed after turning it off that the hose to the housing was kinda letting some out hissing. I could tell it was coming from the hose. I let it cool off and I went to take the hose off the neck of the housing broke off in the hose. Now I searched all over and found that these Chrome ones were leaking bad, so I'm prepared to pay some money to get a good one. So what do I get. I found one at 440 source and summit has them. I went ahead and got a 195 thermostat while I have it apart. Oh, I have a 383. Thanks

you could probably find one at local auto part store, ebay, or maybe someone here has one. The chrome ones never seal very good

Just run down to your local O'Reilly or other discount auto parts store.  I paid like 7 bucks for my aluminum housing.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I checked the local stores and none had one according to online pages. I'll probably just go with a billet aluminum from Mancini

Frank Badalson has the correct original housings with gasket. I believe he is selling good 180 or 185 T-stats as well. I use 180's in everything.

I've got the Mancini Billet neck on mine and it works great. No leaks!   :2thumbs:

It's amazing what you can find at O'Reilly's.  Guess I'm gonna have something new on the engine soon!   :icon_smile_big:

Yep. That's the one I ended up getting. I went to one store and the guy said he didn't have it. Then right before leaving another guy said maybe the other location. And they had it. Installed and will test tomorrow.

Cast iron thermostat  housings are the best. Been there done that with the chrome Mopar one and it all ended in tears.
