DC.Com member "daveco" is the metal-working maestro that will repair the uni-body structure that was damaged in the 1979 "encounter" with a roadside pole....  not an auto-frame specialist by trade, Dave (daveco) owns a small shop that fabricates & repairs aircraft components (primarily helicopter), and specializes in the fabrication of components for special mission aircraft such as air ambulances and similar variants...

Here Dave starts the project by removing the rear axle (3.55 S/G 8.75), in preparation to build a repair fixture that will verify the final result not only meets the factory specifications, but exceeds them and shows no trace of the 1979 accident.

The uni-body repair is going to be done by DC.Com member "daveco", but I hope to have Ken do the restoration... I am absolutely pleased by  his work on my Charger 500... after a night of "Blue Thunder", breaks a morning of "Red Dawn".. I HOPE!

Allen before you get in too deep on this one I think you should just sell it to me and let me hassle with fixing it.

I have recently sold the following:

1968 "383 HP" Polara
1968 "318" Charger
1969 "383" Charger
1970 440 Six Pack Charger R/T
1970 Hemi `Cuda
1990 D-150 Club Cab Pick Up

... and I am trading my Y2 1969 440 Charger R/T to daveco for the repair of the Daytona uni-body.

Also, I have recently acquired most of the remaining parts needed for the Daytona in two "package deals", so I am ending my effort to trade for a turn-key Daytona, and launching parallel efforts to restore my triple black 1968 Hemi Charger R/T and my Daytona... What? ... ME Worry?!?...  :shruggy:  :eek2:

Well, the Daytona is going to spend a while in the Intensive Care Unit of DaveCo (mostly funded by the Y2 1969 Charger R/T trade) while the triple black Hemi Charger R/T finally begins it's long overdue restoration with the initial funding from the sale of the Hemi `Cuda, which will also be the source of funding to payoff the final bills of the restoration of my Charger 500... as well as a few other mini-projects and other bills.  By the time the Daytona is ready for Ken's restoration talents, hopefully the Hemi Charger will be nearing completion...   :2thumbs:  :shruggy:  :scratchchin:

Changes are in the works for most of my collection...

In the pictures below:

1)  The 1970 year model 426 Hemi is removed from my Hemi Charger R/T to be sold with the 1970 Hemi `Cuda...
2)  The 1970 Hemi `Cuda awaiting pickup by it's new owner, scheduled to occur a week from today...
3)  My 1970 Challenger T/A is nearing completion of a mild make-over, more of a revival... not a restoration...
4)  My 1969 Charger 500 is nearing completion of it's extensive restoration... quite the learning experience...

He needs a unibody fixture like mine. We just back halved a Charger and that car is dead on perfect. Makes piecing a car together a breeze. We built that car in five days. My 70 Charger is going on the fixture next to start my F&F Daytona project.

Can't wait to see pics of your progress Allen.
