He is right, this is a 1 of 1.   I have never seen a 1968 Charger that looked like that, Thank God!

Gotta wonder if its a real 69 RT Coronet though?

Regardless of what it is, without a set of Hemi heads sticking out of it, it's not worth 45k. Maybe he meant 4 or 5k?

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Ghoste

No, not 45 but if it's an Arizona car originally and a real RT it could be worth more than 4k too.  And you're right, it could be a typo, after all he lives in "phoeinx".

BrianShaughnessy

I'd take it for $4500...     leave off the last 0... which apparently the sellers IQ.   :Twocents:

No clue why they'd plop a post hole digger on top of the engine bay tho  :shruggy:

probably obvious, but if he's mistaking his own 69 coronet for a 68 charger its likely not his car  :slap:

i just called, it's $450.00  :D oh and it's a J code car too  :nana:     :slap: kidding of course  :icon_smile_big:

I'm also a little curious as to why he left that crap piled on top of the engine for the underhood shot.

Crap?  That is obviously a blower that is adding 150 hp.

Ghoste

Ah, I see it now.  It also has the rare export bracing.

Ghoste

Whatever it is, he was thoughtful enough to pile newspapers on the right fender so it wouldn't get scratched.

A383Wing

he's protecting the original rust..that's what makes this car so "special"

does that look like a air grabber hood , from the under side  :scratchchin:

I'd have to agree. You can't really see a V-8 in the very artsy photos....

No, that closeup that 36 Dodge Brothers posted on the first page looks like there is a valve cover looming up out of the darkness on the driver side.

Dans 68

I guess I was too subtle with the italitized very in my thread.  ;)  Yes, I agree, there is a V-8 engine.  :yesnod:

Too subtle for me today that's for sure.

Looks like it'd be a good project for somebody.  At least he listed it instead of just sending it to the junkyard.

Hopefully, it was just a typo on his part on the pricetag.

Technically on a 69 Dodge we would call it a Ramcharger hood though. ;)

Ok today I am going to go take pictures of my one of a kind charger cause I want to sell it. Hmm the hood won't close. Maybe the carb is too big.
Well after all it is one of a kind and a real buyer will understand. :shruggy:

When I talk to guys after thy buy old cars/parts, and they say 'The guy didn't know what he had' it means that he sold it for cheap.  This guy doesn't know what he has, but apparently thinks it's worth 45K anyway. #delusional

ws23rt

Hard to tell but looks like no cut out in the air grabber to clear master cylinder if it was a hemi with power brakes.
In the other picture the emblem on the hood scoop looks too long to be 440 or 383.
Passenger front fender shows evidence of an emblem above the side marker. It also looks too long to be 440 or 383. :shruggy:

Ghoste

Coronet RT in 69 didn't have a fender mounted emblem.

My RT has one. I always assumed it was factory installed. I bought this car in 1980 and the holes in the fender matched the emblem pins. It is the same as the ones on the hood scoops.
Does this make mine one of one? ::) I will testify that it is the only one I have.

Ghoste

Actually I should re-check that.  I was thinking of the RT with the Ramcharger hood but the bulge hood could well be fender.  For sure not both.

It seems redundant to have "HEMI" emblems on both the fenders and hood scoops.  :Twocents:

It does seem odd when it's pointed out. The other side doesn't have one. I wonder if a previous owner added it.
In my old mopar parts catalog an RT emblem is shown placed just behind the rear wheel on qtr panel but I have never seen one in that spot on a car.
It brings a question about folks putting these together on the line. Was this stuff added off line? There must have been a map for every item like there is for stripe placement.

Ghoste

The parts catalog often has a representative pic.  The 1/4 panel one was on the 67.
