We are having an extreme heat advisory this weekend. Now it is getting hot!
Took these shots from around 1:00 PM this afternoon till around 3:30. The first ones are in the work truck, last ones are in my personal truck on the ride home from work.

And the last one is my temp gauge. It usually sits right on the line at 200°. Not today!!

Yikes!  I had the rental car up to 112º a few years ago when on a trip to Vegas....  I thought we were going to melt!  Made the mistake of walking outside between the Excalibur & the Luxor hotels....BIG mistake!  Actually felt the rubber on your shoes melting to the asphalt!

Death valley isn't far from us and they say it's going to hit 135° or so.   Right now we are 112°.   Not to bad but still hot especially with a hangover.   Keep hydrated Paul if you go out.

They were saying on the radio if you are going to be outside drink a quart of water per hour. I am sure the news tonight is going to have clips of people being rescued from the mountain trails in Phoenix. People take a bottle of water for an hour long hike up the hill, then they dehydrate and cant make it back down. Happens all the time.

Truthfully the humidity is much worse. 100 degree with 80% humidity is the same uncomfortableness as we are getting in the 120's with 3% humidity right now. The problems is at 120 your body cant expel heat, you stroke out and die. Along with the smoke from the big fire up north last week the air here is thick right now. Cant wait for winter!

We're in our second month of winter and it's a mild 18 degrees (celsius).  Nothing but blue skies and sunshine. Running around in a T/shirt.
Just got back from a cruise. Couldn't pass up such a perfect day.

The world's gone topsy turvy.
It's not unusual for us to have sunny dry winters though. Previously, it lasted 15 years. They ended up calling it "drought" for want of a better name.

Work sucked today. Humidity was around 25%, temps close to 100° all morning, 110° by afternoon. Worked outside all morning. My shirt was soaked by lunch time.  :eek2: On the bright side... 2 more months till monsoon is over, then great weather.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about.  Here it is July in MO, and I'm turning the heater on in the evening.  We hit record lows most of all this week.  I'm curious as to what August is going to bring, weather wise.

Alas the jet stream is moving and we will be hitting 80's again this week.  It was actually nice to have two weeks of cold and rain, I can't stand the heat.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Fred

My God! it's the middle of winter and it's 21 degrees today. It's so like summer, it's unreal.
We've got all the doors open and we're running around in T/shirts.
If it gets any warmer, we'll be jumping in the pool.
The blossom trees have started to flower and most of the daffodils too.  And some of the Magnolia's look as though they're ready to burst into bloom any day now, it's crazy!
But we're not complaining. It's crazy, wonderful.
