Well after driving down see a fellow Charger owner on Saturday here in Oz i arrived back home to see my steering box going drip drip on the ground from the pitman arm,and looking back to see the Trans weeping a bit as well...

Now i have known about these two leaks for  a couple of months and as i only drive it every other weekend it wasnt bad but after spending all the time restoring the car i didnt want my nice and clean underside to be ruined so up on the axle stands she went!!..Pitman arm off next out came the dust seal, circlip, and washer and then i started her up and turned the steering from side to side for a few seconds and out dropped the seal   :2thumbs:

While that was draining Next it was the Trans,so after seeing that the park/neutral switch looked like it had a bit of a sweat from somewhere i decided it would be smart to pull it out and inspect it....NOT REAL CLEVER on my part cause i didnt realise the trans fluid would come with it haha...lesson learned....I had previously bought one of those double silicon beaded plastic gaskets and installed it but my pan might not of been entirely square and true so i having another crack at it....

Heres a few progress pics, the 727 def has a shift kit as it chirps my 295's easily but i have no idea if you can tell just by looking so those who can see anything let me know lever ratio is 2.9 from what i can see

Sorry pics arent the best as i was trying to avoid some of the fluid, the new filter i purchased is apparently the correct one to use and the one that was on it is not :shruggy:

While the pans off i should probably tackle a band adjustment as well....i have read up on the whole 72 inch pounds etc but i dont have a bubby torque wrench so i might just go by feel then 2 turns out ??? if i set them both the same that is acceptable???

Oh also on the metal gasket between the valve body and case it looks like a "045" stamped out on one side..not too sure what  that represents

Cheers Chippa
