Changed out my drum brakes for disks on the 66 and now I've got the spindles from a 73 barracuda-my old chiltons says to torque a 71 cuda (that's all it goes up to) at 90 FT lbs then back off one notch, does that seem excessive? and no it didn't say 90 in lbs,I made sure.anybody knowledgeable on Cuda stuff?
This is gonna be cheap and easy......

90 ftlbs can't be right. an amazing misprint.

I've just checked my Cuda service manual and here is what it says.............

Tighten wheel bearing adjusting nut to 90 inch-pounds while rotating wheel.
Back off adjusting nut lock assembly one slot and install cotter pin.
The resulting adjustment should be zero (no preload) to .003 inch end play.

I hope this helps.
