Im changing the cylinders in the rear of the 66 and I cant get the adjuster plate to pull back down onto the star wheel, when I was assembling them I had the same problem and stumbled into the solution but cant remember what I did-I looked at the other side which is correct and it looks exactly the same and the plate makes good contact w the adjuster wheel.I just keep taking it off and putting it back on w the same results,I even followed the shop manuals instruction but no success it still will not level off and touch, keeps pulling up too high-anybody have any idea what im doing wrong?

Yes it's put in the pin first before the other springs and has about 1/8 space on the cable side

ok one pic shows the left side I haven't disassembled yet for the cyl change just to show you how it looks like the other side, the other 2 are of the problem on the right side, notice that the lever doesn't touch the adjuster wheel it pulls up too much.I ran into this problem when I repaired them months ago but for the life of me I cant remember what I did to correct it,I think it had something to do w the cable guide...

cdr-I adjusted the star wheel out and placed the drum on snug and still nothing-the adjuster will not touch,it was fine till I took it apart and replaced the cyl now its like the cables too short
