I tend to doubt this one's real. The straps are around the table top and the 750 lbs of people weight is below the straps. Nails would pull right out. However, if it is real, they are stupid.

Ya think?  How about just getting two normal looking  broads to do that?  Ain't happenin' Jack. It's fake.

There are straps going under the lower braces and all those people appear to be wearing harnesses with safety ropes. I don't know too many reckless climbers.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I meet a young lady years ago that actually did sleep on the side of the cliff, said it was unique, no sh*t. I call BS on the table, climbing down to it would be tricky, what they probably don't show is the crane up top that will lower you down for the shot, after you get seated & everbody is balanced out right. I will keep my feet on the ground thank you.

I don't think it would really bother me but on the other hand I don't really see the point of it. Unless it takes more than a day to climb up a sheer cliff why stop off to camp? Answer: attention whores. :icon_smile_big:

The pictures (other than the picnic table one) appear to be climbs that could easily last more than a day. I don't think most people just stop midway, pitch a tent, and hang out for a couple hours reading a book.

Sleeping on a cliff face is a real habit of some climbers.

The climbing world didn't just wake up one morning and decide to do something that ridiculous just for the hell of it.  It started with sleeping overnight during a climb on a ledge where they felt safer being roped to the rock.  Then they graduated to using a strong sleeping bag setup and fastening that to the hillside.  Eventually they were hanging the bag on ropes entirely.  Etc.

The picnic table?  I think that one must be purely a staged photo stunt.

Most people, no. But many people seem to enjoy being weird/stupid when there's a camera nearby.

I seem to remember one weirdo that always had a camera nearby... Even with his 6 story Big Mac. (or however big it was)

God must love stupid people; He made so many.
