How much do black Cali plates generally sell for?

skip68

Honestly I have no idea what they're worth.   I wouldn't think they're that expensive.

depends on the shape theyre in. seen them on ebay anywhere from $20 up to the hundreds for mint examples. also adds value if the seller knows that they are not in the CA DMV system, b/c then they can be used. Also, some people will pay $$$ for them when they want the plate # to be of the correct year (ie. plates starting with "A" are from the early 60's, "Z" is from 1969. etc.

But I know skippy, being a pal, will gimme a good deal.

I want them to stay with the car for now in case of a Ca. buyer.   If it sells to a buyer in another state I'll hook you up Ponch.    :2thumbs:

You are OUT OF YOUR MIND separating the car and motor. There are clubs of people that will pay big for that car complete.....

Ok, I must have dreamed this somewhere but I thought you could register a car in CA regardless of residency??

While I completely agree with you, unless someone from that group shows up and actually buys it.... YMMV

I personally wish I could pick up that car. I think it is way cool.   :coolgleamA:

Steve, you are absolutely correct.   I've had offers on the motor and tranny but said no.  The car is sold and going to Arizona and getting completely restored like it deserves.    :2thumbs:
