My brake line leaks at the master cylinder . Anybody have any solutions to this ? I  changed the master cylinder and now it leaks. I was thinking of using Teflon tape on the threads but read that it can contaminate the brake system if the particles get in there . I also read about a hydraulic sealer . anyone have any experience with this stuff ?

The line seals with the flare on the end so teflon tape won't help. You may have a cracked flare on the line? Did you try to tighten?

Yes , I did try to tighten it . I don't want to over tighten it either . Maybe ill give it another turn.

Yeah not much you can do band aid wise, you do not want to lose your brakes out there so don't take any chances.  If tightening doesn't work you may need a new line.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

There is a chance you have the wrong flare on the end of the original lines?

I always make sure the line is all the way in against the flare while you tighten the nut.

Problem solved! Yup, it was as simple tightening the nuts a little tighter than I felt comfortable with. I was looking at new lines too. I'm glad I saved a few bucks. Thanks.
