Rolling back odometer

I'm restoring a car to keep forever what is the best way to roll the odometer back so far just been using drill in reverse I had an old one I took apart to try to roll back by hand didn't work

Why roll back, just let it be!!  Who cares about miles on a 40 year old car!!

Every panel is going to be new I bought the car and after sanding it down it was discovered it was in a roll over so even the roof is new its been painful should or shouldn't I roll in back

I'm at 6500 right now in reverse when forward the drill shows its going 90

you must physically disassemble the entire speedo and roll the wheels back and align them all to "00000" and reinstall it...       

Legally - you must disclose the speedo has been reset if you ever choose to sell the vehicle - of you can be convicted of fraud.

Cars older than 10 years old are automatically labeled TMU, at least in MO.

I've always been more impressed by cars that haven't had the odo rolled back.  It should be a badge of pride that a car has a lot of miles on it.

I rolled the speedo in the Daytona back to "0" when we built it..mainly because it never came with a cluster when I found it in the wrecking yard
