Is there a difference in the Rallye cluster between the 70-71 cars and the later ones?

TheAutoArchaeologist

Yes, tach is different.  I think the odo reset was moved.  And a few other things I can't remember.

Ghoste

Fit and function remain the same then?

Cooter

I think All four years were similar and will work as I've read where folks have run the 70-71 Rallye dash in 72-74 Cars.

Thanks.  And no reason for it, just something I had heard today so I wanted to know for sure.

The redline on the tach is different too.  And the button for the odometer and the clock reset is different .

Indygenerallee

Yep tach is 8,000 RPM on 70-71 R/T and 7,000 RPM on 72-74 Rallye gauges
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

one red line starts from 5 grand  the other from 55 i think  depending on what year  , also don't quote me on this , just something i remember reading about long time ago ,  might of been on moparts or the e body site ,  a 6 pack car had a  tach with redline from 5 when in should ob been 55 or the other way around for that year , well something along them lines , was quite a debate on the site it was on too , as it was the original tach from  unrestored car  :scratchchin: :popcrn: ,  :shruggy:
